Annual Sports Week, one of the most highly awaited events of the year, was celebrated from Chaitra 13 to Chaitra 19, 2073 in the premises of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences (NAIHS), Bhandarkhal, Sanobharyang. Medical and nursing students actively participated in more than 20 different events held during the Sports Week.
Amidst much fanfare, Major General (Retired) Professor Dr. Bachhu Ram K.C. inaugurated the formal events of the Sports Week. Brigadier General Professor Dr. Brajendra Srivastava, Prinicipal of College of Medicine and Colonel Aruna Rai, Principal of College of Nursing wished the participants all the best for the various events.
The week-long program included highly competitive games in Badminton, Table tennis, Football, Cricket, Chess, Tug-of-war, and Volleyball. New events including Futsal, Cricksal, Marathon, Singing competition, Dance competition, Art and Craft competition, Skit competition, and March-past competition added more fun to the program. The crowning of Mr. NAIHS-COM and Miss NAIHS-COM, for the first time in the history of NAIHS, also infused good dose of joviality in the participants and the audience.
The final day of the Sports Week was celebrated with programs that included final events in some of the sports categories. This year’s Annual Sports Championship Trophy of College of Medicine was lifted by Blue House. The closing of the Sports Week was marked by distribution of the medals, trophies, and finally, the musical gala in the evening.
