The Commanding General Pacific Regional Medical Command, Hawaii, USA; Brigadier General Patrick Sargent, visited Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences on 19 March 2015. The other team members consisted of Colonel Walt Stanish, (Deputy Surgeon), Lt. Colonel Walter Cumming, (USARPAL Chief), 1 Lt. Justin Lumen (ADC), Lt Col.Gianni Martin (US Embassy, Kathmandu) and Major Joe Evans (US Embassy, Kathmandu).
They were received by Deputy Executive Director of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences(NAIHS) Brig Gen(Retd.)Prof. Dr. Bhairab Kumar Hamal, Brig Gen Prof. Dr. Narbada Thapa (Principal NAIHS-College of Nursing), Brig Gen Prof. Dr. Rajesh Panth (Principal NAIHS-College of Medicine) and other members of the administration of NAIHS.
An Overview of NAIHS was presented to the visiting team by the Deputy Executive Director. The visiting team took a tour of the Basic Science Complex and the auditorium Complex. The visiting members and NAIHS officials had discussion on bilateral issue of mutual co-operation with special emphasis on training and guest lectures by the eminent medical personnel.
Commanding General Pacific Regional Medical Command, Hawaii, USA; Brigadier General Patrick Sargent signed the visitor’s book and exchanged mementos with NAIHS. He expressed his happiness on the visit. He was also pleased with the progress in the infrastructure and the academic achievement of the institution in such a short span of time.
